The order for 288 monorail of Thailand will be delivered from today

On September 4th, in the company's (hereinafter referred to as PBTS) manufacturing base in Wuhu, two yellow and pink trains were assembled and are ready to be packaged and shipped. This is the first train of 288 straddle monorail of Yellow&Pink Lines provided by PBTS to Bangkok. The whole shipment of the train marks the start of the delivery of this order. This project is also the delivery of another export project after the Bangkok Golden Line APM system cars in Bangkok this year, and it is the company's first straddle monorail project for export delivery.

In June 2017, Bombardier Transportation Group and the North Bangkok Monorail Company and the East Bangkok Monorail Company successfully signed the turnkey project contract for the core electromechanical of the Yellow&Pink Line in Bangkok, Thailand. The straddle monorails in the project are all provided by PBTS, with a total of 72 columns, 288 cars. The train is designed and manufactured with fully automatic driverless technology and international advanced standards, and has excellent safety, reliability and comfort. All trains will be delivered in early 2022.

At 11 o'clock in the morning, before the train was hoisted, employees involved in the design, R&D and manufacturing of the project, representatives of the train supply chain, and leaders of Wuhu City and the Economic Development Zone gathered in front of the train to take a group photo to commemorate this unforgettable moment.

On the same day, Bombardier Bangkok Yellow Pink Line Project Director-Chris Fifield congratulated PBTS: " am very pleased to see the first PBTS Monorail Trains now ready for exporting to Thailand. This represents more than 2 years of hard work and collaboration between PBTS, BT Project & Engineering Teams to address our end customer's expectations. Our customer is very much looking forwards to receiving the first Monorail cars ever seen in Thailand and this will likely be a high profile event. This is a major milestone and an important step towards delivering the Bangkok Pink & Yellow Line Projects and we are all looking forwards to commissioning these trains into revenue service by the end of 2021. Thank you to the entire PBTS Team for achieving this important milestone."

“This is a major accomplishment for PBTS because it is our first Monorail export project and I wanted to thanks the city of Wuhu for their continuous support as well as both Bombardier Transportation and CRRC Puzhen which joins together to established PBTS.”

In response to this major achievement of PBTS, the general manager of PBTS Romuald Ponte excitedly expressed his gratitude to all parties who provided strong support to the company.

According to the plan, after the first train arrives at the Thai site, a series of tests will be carried out, including related system tests on the main line. The Yellow Line and the Pink Line in Bangkok, Thailand are two important rail transit lines in the urban area of Bangkok. Both of them adopt the straddle monorail system. The lines are planned to be put into operation in 2022.
