PATS Delivers the First Train of the BPLRT APM300R Project Successfully

Recently, the first train delivery ceremony of Singapore Bukit Panjang APM project was held in the testing workshop of PATS.The Secretary of the Party and Union Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone, Mr. Cao Xiaoming, General Manager of PATS Mr.Geng Ming , Deputy General Manager as well as secretary of the Party Branch Mr.Xu Haida, and others attended the ceremony.

In the face of the unfavorable impact of COVID-19, PATS worked together with the customer and made progress together. With the strong support of the Wuhu Municipal Government and the Economic Development Zone Management Committee, PATS overcame many challenges and finally completed the production and relevant tests of the first train. The first train successfully arrived at the Bukit Panjang Depot in Singapore on April 19. The train undergo a series of testing and commissioning there.

The Bukit Panjang Line in Singapore adopts the APM rubber-tyre system of PATS, and the whole city is paved with elevated roads. The line mainly runs near the residential buildings,and it is an important means for residents in the Bukit Panjang area to travel and connect with the subway for commuting. The total length of the line is 7.8 kilometers. There are 13 stations in total. PATS signed a contract in May 2019 to provide 19 new APM300R trains for the line to replace the original APM100 trains on the line. This is also the first overseas APM300R project of PATS. In addition to maintaining the interface with the original civil engineering and electromechanical system, this upgraded train has also carried out many innovative designs, such as: Train control system is redundant, signalling and vehicle control systems' hosts are hot standby on each car which improves the reliability and availability of the system.  Interior decoration and hardware of the vehicle are more friendly and beautiful. Misting glasses are used for doors and windows, their transparency would be automatically controlled according to the train location and could effectively protect the privacy of residents along the line.
