Singapore BPLRT


The Singapore Bukit Panjang Light Rapid Transit System was put into service on the 6th of November, 1999.The fleet size was 19 cars ( APM 100 ), 7.8 km and 14 stations, fully automated, using the Signaling system called “cityflo 550”.

In 2018, CRRC Puzhen Bombardier Transportation Systems Co., Ltd (PBTS) signed a contract valued at $302 million with Bombardier Transportation for the BPLRT project, which is a subcontract of the original main contract signed by Bombardier Transportation and Singapore’s Land Transport Authority. The scope of supply includes: providing a new CITYFLO 650 communication train control system to replace the CITYFLO 550 signalling system; providing 19 new INNOVIA APM 300R cars to replace the APM 100 cars. The project is expected to be put into operation in December 2022.
