On 20th October, Mr. Loke Siew Fook, Malaysian Minister of Transport, and his delegation visited PATS. Ms. Fang Ling, Asia-Pacific Region President of Alstom, Mr. Geng Ming, China Cluster Managing Director of Alstom, Mr. MAIXANDEAU Yann, Singapore&Malaysia Region President of Alstom, Mr. Deng Rui, Chairman of PATS, and management representatives warmly welcomed Mr. Loke Siew Fook and his delegation.
Mr. Loke Siew Fook and his delegation checked the production progress of the APM at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). They also visited the workshop of PATS and experienced the appearance and interior of the new train. As of now, nearly 90% of the first train of the project has been completed, and the APM train has three carriages, which are expected to be delivered to Malaysia next year.
Due to the short distance between the main terminal and satellite terminal of Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the design of the APM vehicle is the same as usual and there are no seats installed. But the train with additional features will also improve the convenience and comfort of passengers when riding. For example, some carriages still have seats for the elderly to use. In addition, the train is equipped with wider and brighter windows, allowing passengers to have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery outside.
