PATS Achieves the Five-year Maintenance Contract for Shanghai Pujiang Line APM

On the afternoon of July 5th, PATS and Shanghai Shenkai Public Transport Operation Management Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the maintenance of the core electromechanical system of the Pujiang Line in Puzhen, Nanjing. Under the witness of Zhang Lingxiang, Vice President of Shentong Group, and Yang Qi, General Manager of Puzhen Company, Wang Chuanfu, the company’s leader and Tian Yifeng, Chairman of Shenkai formally signed the maintenance contract.

The total amount of this contract is approximately 320 million RMB, and the scope of the contract includes daily maintenance of APM vehicles, signalling, track, comprehensive monitoring and communications systems, as well as train frame overhaul on the Shanghai Pujiang Line. The service period lasts 5 years, and it is the first full life-cycle core electromechanical system maintenance contract for urban rail transit APM obtained by the company.

Shanghai Metro Pujiang Line is the first APM rail transit line in Shanghai, and it is also the first automatic rubber-tyred rapid transit system in China to realize interconnection with the subway. The total length of the line is 6.6 kilometers, and it’s fully elevated with a total of 6 stations. The train is composed of 4 cars, with a total length of 51 meters,and the train can carry maximum 560 passengers. The vehicle adopts lightweight car body, regenerative braking and intelligent power management system, which can minimize energy consumption, and it is also equipped with high-reliability explosion-proof steel-rim tires in terms of safety, integrating green, intelligent, safe and efficient features.

As the extension of Shanghai Metro Line 8, Pujiang Line has been of great significance to the regional development of Pujiang Town since it was put into operation in March 2018. It has not only promoted the construction of Pujiang Town, solved the problem of "the last kilometer" for residents along the line, but also improved the function of Line 8 and even the entire Shanghai rail transit network. After five years of operational practice, the Pujiang Line has leveraged the advantages of rail transit in terms of convenience, speed, safety, and punctuality, working as a demo of APM lines.
